In July 2007 the European Parliament introduced legislation (Regulation (EC) 842/2008) under the Kyoto protocol, governing the usage, labelling and containment of all fluorinated gases (F Gases) used in vehicle, commercial and domestic air-conditioning units. This also included a ban on the production of disposable R134a cylinders often used in the automotive aftercare market for servicing mobile air conditioning units.
Whilst some disposable cylinders still exists it makes good business sense to make the necessary changes now so that you're better prepared when the supply eventually runs out.

For additional convenience BOC can combine delivery of R134a cylinders with your other industrial gas requirements such as oxygen and acetylene. Choice Unlike the former disposable cylinders which were only available in 13kg cylinders, BOC is able to supply a range of refillable cylinder sizes from 9.5 kg and 12kg to 65kg, to meet your specific needs. For product choice, BOC believes that it’s the only supplier of the R134aUV refillable cylinder, which contains an ultraviolet dye to aid leak detection. Safety The new cylinders are more robust and have a more secure valve outlet that requires an adaptor to connect the hoses to the system. Additionally, the content and integrity of every cylinder is tested before it is filled and dispatched.
