2008 Cooling Industry Awards
The judges of the prestigious Cooling Industry Awards have short-listed BOC’s Don’t Lose Your Cool campaign promoting the phase out of HCFCs as a finalist within the environmental marketing campaign category.
BOC's refrigerants team beat some of the biggest names in business to win the Environmental Marketing Campaign award at this year's Cooling Industry Awards. The award was made for the Don't Lose Your Cool campaign which aims to make the refrigeration and air conditioning industry aware of the phasing out of harmful HCFC refrigerants and educate it about the alternatives available.
When giving their reasons for making the award, the judges' panel praised the campaign for its "creativity and clarity of message". Referring to the options open to plant owners and operators faced with the phase-out of R22, the most widely-used refrigerant, they said that "rash decisions are the last thing we want and there is a certain level-headedness about the campaign". The panel concluded: "This campaign gets to the sharp end!"
